As a member of the RTSC team, you’ll help us “Raise the Standard” of environment, safety, and health (ES&H) at our client organizations in the military, government, and private sectors. We develop, implement, and manage team-based safety policies, programs, and training sequences that are best in class and provide an outstanding return on investment (ROI).
Full Time Professional in Construction Safety
We are actively recruiting safety professionals to be Site Safety & Health Officers (SSHOs) for various private and government construction projects in the State of Hawaii. A formal occupational safety and health degree or education is preferred, but work experience and related education will be considered. The following items are highly recommended but not required for this position:
A minimum of five (5) years of construction safety experience (USACE/NAVFAC project experience preferred)
Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST) or a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
OSHA 30 (Construction), 40 Hour EM385-1-1, Current First Aid/CPR
Competent Person qualified in fall protection, scaffolding, confined spaces, rigging, excavation & trenching, PPE, health-hazard recognition, and electrical safety (lockout-tagout)
24 hours of documented safety training annually for the past five years
The position requires knowledge and successful experience in developing safety programs, Accident Prevention Plans (APP), and developing and reviewing Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA). In addition, you will be required to have experience in safety audits, investigating incidents, and the ability to conduct safety training sessions successfully.
Additional requirements: Experience in OHSAS 18001 and Hawaii administrative rules, title 12 Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, subtitle 8 Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health Division Part 2, is preferred.

Part/Full Time Safey Trainer
We are actively recruiting a safety professional to be a safety trainer in the State of Hawaii. Responsibilities will include:
- Reading through pre-generated training PowerPoints and other documents to familiarize yourself with the material
- Printing out tests, forms, sign ins, and other paperwork prior to training
- Setting up training equipment (ex. first aid mannequins, projector, fall protection equipment) at the training location prior to the start of class
- Going through training materials, including slides, videos, case studies, practical exercises, tests, and more.
- Evaluating written tests, practical exercises, practice lessons, and more done by the trainees
- Collecting and turning in all documentation promptly after the completion of courses
Common training topics include fall protection, confined space, electrical safety, excavation and trenching, rigging, scaffolding, forklift/scissor lift / aerial lift, First Aid/CPR/AED, OSHA 10 & 30, HAZCOM, Silica, and bloodborne pathogens.
RTSC will require experience with training and/or public speaking, at least 3 years’ experience in construction industry (tradesman, foreman, management, safety), OSHA 30 and the willingness and ability to obtain OSHA 501 & 510 (Construction), 502 & 511 (General Industry) and other train-the-trainer certifications.
